Elderly Alarms - Easy Operation & Setup

Personal Alarms for the Elderly are designed to be setup by the user themselves and they come with simple instruction manuals to help you through the process. You do not need to be technical to carry out the setup and it has the same level of complexity as using features on a mobile phone.

However, we know this kind of thing isn't for everyone and that's why we offer a Setup Service where we'll setup your alarm with all the required numbers and features that the alarm may have. Whatever your choice we have a solution for you.

How to Setup the Medilarm Classic

The Medilarm Classic Personal Alarm for the Elderly is initially setup by placing the SIM card you wish to use into an existing mobile phone and then saving the numbers you want it to call and text as contacts to this SIM Card. The manual that came with the mobile phone will tell you how to do this or you can call us and we will talk you through the process.

We suggest you purchase a SIM Card from the mobile network operator that your existing mobile phone uses. Most mobile phones are "locked" to a network so won't allow you to access the SIM Card from a different operator.

The features of the Medilarm Classic Personal Alarm for the Elderly such as whether it calls , sends a text message or both, are turned on/off by calling the phone number of the SIM Card and entering a series of key presses. You can also change the default access password so that only someone who knows this can activate or deactivate its features.

It really is an easy process and if you get stuck our guides and videos in the Support section can help.

How to Setup the Medilarm Pro

All the basic features of the Medilarm Pro Personal Alarm for the Elderly, such as entering the emergency and favourite numbers, can be setup by sending it a text message from a mobile phone. Simply put the SIM card into the alarm and send it a text in the format described in the manual - that's all there is to it!

The more advanced features such as changing the words in the text messages it sends, defining start and stop times for the movement detectors or setting the alert timers, have to be carried out by connecting it to a PC via a (supplied) USB cable and entering details into some simple software. This is still a very easy process.
