Medilarm Tracker GPS Fall Alarm for the Elderly does not send text messages
If you find that your GPS Fall Alarm for the Elderly is not performing as expected then a few simple SMS commands will allow it to be reprogrammed or alternatively you can download the free Track Assistant software.
There is a printing error in the Quick Start guide Version 1 on Page 10:
- STEP 1 should be carried out after STEP2 and STEP3
If you find SMS messages are not being sent, or calls aren't being made, then send the following command:
PSW:0000;CFG1;ALM:300,5,5,2;RST
- Where 0000 is the password of your Medilarm Tracker
This will set the Alarm to only send text messages, but more importantly it will then accept the commands to setup the numbers to receive text messages and calls
- Then execute STEP2, STEP 3 and STEP 1 to re-enable both call and text sending capabilities
If you program your GPS Fall Alarm using the software you can only enable both text and call features by sending it the command detailed in STEP 1 of the Quick Start Guide. The software will allow you to enable text or call features but not both at the same time. |

Alarm Dial No. must be set
The Elite Wireless GSM Alarm is designed to sound its siren in 20 second bursts for a total of approximately 60 seconds providing that an Alarm Dial No. has been configured. After which the siren will only sound again if the Elite Wireless GSM Alarm detects another activation.
If no Alarm Dial number has been configured then the Elite Wireless GSM Alarm will sound its siren for only 20 seconds.
By only sounding the siren for 60 seconds the person who receives the phone call from the GSM Alarm can wait for the siren to stop and then listen in to the surroundings of the alarm panel. |

One beep
If your Medilarm Pro Personal Alarm for the Elderly beeps once every few minutes this indicates that it does not have a signal from the mobile phone network.
This could be due to the position of the device or that you have not inserted a SIM card correctly. To resolve this problem:
- Try re-positioning the device elsewhere in the house so it can receive a stronger signal.
- Check that the gold contacts of the SIM card are facing down and that the cut corner of the SIM card matches the cut corner of the SIM holder.
Three beeps
If the Medilarm Pro Personal Alarm for the Elderly beeps several times then this could be that a movement detector has not been paired to the alarm correctly. Please note there will be 3 beeps just after startup if you are using a Vodafone SIM - this is normal and indicates the alarm has downloaded the current time from the network.
Movement detectors are used to check for movement between certain times of the day and will send a signal to the alarm of it is not activated between these times. Movement detectors must be paired to Zones 1 to 4. |

Auto Answer will only work if called by a recognised number
The Medilarm Pro Personal Alarm for the Elderly will only auto answer after 3 rings if the number calling is one of either the Favorite, SMS or Dial numbers that are programmed into it.
If any other number calls the Medilarm Pro Personal Alarm for the Elderly it will only be answered if the STOP button is pressed.
This ensures your elderly relative does not get disturbed by nuisance callers or having to rush to the Medilarm Pro to answer a call. |
