Benefits of a Wireless Burglar Alarm

There are many different wireless burglar alarms on the market that you can choose from but we aim to simplify the process and provide fully featured, good quality house alarms at a reasonable price, that can be fitted by the homeowner themselves or installed by us.

Many alarm companies will try and convince you that you should install a wired burglar alarm system and pay for monthly monitoring via a call centre. In some cases this may be necessary but for the average homeowner the costs are just too great. Wired alarm systems for an average 3 bedroom house are unlikely to cost less than £500 - £700* and those companies that offer discounted installation will then expect you to pay between £20 - £25 per month for alarm monitoring and expect you to sign up to a contract that can last 3 years or more.

We think the ability to "monitor" your alarm is a good idea. After all, how many times have you walked by an alarm that is sounding on a house or shop or seen someone else do the same? Our Premier and Elite wireless burglar alarms will call at least 5 phone numbers that you decide upon and send a text message to another 3. So now if your alarm goes off you will know about it immediately.

"There are no call centres involved or lengthy contracts to sign"

By placing a cheap pay-as-you-go mobile phone SIM card into the back of the alarm you can be notified for just 6p a text. As the alarm will use the mobile phone network to alert you it doesn't tie up your phone line.

Most telephone cables are easily accessible on the outside of your house and if an intruder isn't deterred by a bell box on your property they may decide to cut your telephone cable before attempting entry. With our systems this simply doesn't matter as providing there is a mobile phone signal to your alarm you can receive a text to alert you of an activation.

All the sensors that come with our burglar alarm kits are wireless so there are no carpets to lift up and no cables to trail around your house. The sensors can be either screwed or stuck to windows, doors and walls.

Due to the nature of our wireless burglar alarms you can get protected even if you have a small budget. Adding to the system as your needs change or when you have the money can be done at any time as additional sensors can be registered to the alarm as required.

Programming the alarm with your chosen numbers is either done via its keypad or by sending it a sequence of characters in a text message. In simple terms, if you can work a mobile phone then you can setup one of our alarms.

There are many more features in our alarm systems so why not look through our online store and find a package that suits you and remember you can add additional sensors and accessories as your needs and budget allow.

Which Door Window Sensors?

We stock 3 different types of Door & Window Sensors that work short or longer distances.

Choosing the right one is made an easy process by first deciding on the distance it will be from the main control panel. If the sensor will be 50m and under from the panel then choose the Wireless Door & Window Sensor (100m). If it is between 50m and 100m then this sensor may work well depending on the environmental conditions that exist. Thick walls for example will restrict its range.

If you are in any doubt then the Wireless Door & Window Sensor (500m) will work comfortably up to 250m and is likely to reach further than this up to a maximum of 500m.

Next you should decide if the door or window you will mount the sensor on is wide enough for the sensor. This is important as the standard sensors have a contact that must be mounted to its right. Sometimes window surrounds aren't wide enough to mount the sensor. If this is the case then our Wireless Door & Window Sensor [Separate] (100m) will be more suitable as it has two contacts that are connected to the sensor by a wire. This means that the sensor can be mounted on the window frame with one wire going to one of the very small contacts and the other small contact mounted on the window itself.

If you want to protect external gates and garages then we have a sensor that is housed in a waterproof box and is fully sheathed in a flexible metal tube. The Wireless Garage Door Roller Shutter Door Sensor (100m) [Outdoor] is suited to outdoor use and the contacts can be walked or driven over. They are also suitable for roller shutter doors on shops and commercial premises.

Window Alarms

Window Alarms can be either Vibrations Sensors or Door/Window Sensors. A Vibration Sensor is most effective when there are large areas of glass to protect that do not open. By attaching a Vibration Sensor to to the glass any knock to it will immediately trigger the alarm. As they activate immediately to a knock they give the quickest notification that an intruder is trying to break into the home sometimes before they have even entered. They are sometimes preferred to standard door window sensors because of this ability to activate the alarm before a door or window is opened.

A Door Window Sensor can also be an effective window alarm as they will trigger the siren when the door or window is opened. They are attached to the side of the door or a window and when moved apart will trigger any of our house alarms.

Window alarms are used to protect the perimeter of the property where a pir sensor will protect the inside. This allows the home arm feature of our wireless burglar alarms to be set meaning you can move around your home at night but it won't sound if the pir detectors in the rooms pick up movement.

You can see our range of window alarms by visiting our on-line store.
