Which Door Window Sensors? |

We stock 3 different types of Door & Window Sensors that work short or longer distances. Choosing the right one is made an easy process by first deciding on the distance it will be from the main control panel. If the sensor will be 50m and under from the panel then choose the Wireless Door & Window Sensor (100m). If it is between 50m and 100m then this sensor may work well depending on the environmental conditions that exist. Thick walls for example will restrict its range. If you are in any doubt then the Wireless Door & Window Sensor (500m) will work comfortably up to 250m and is likely to reach further than this up to a maximum of 500m. Next you should decide if the door or window you will mount the sensor on is wide enough for the sensor. This is important as the standard sensors have a contact that must be mounted to its right. Sometimes window surrounds aren't wide enough to mount the sensor. If this is the case then our Wireless Door & Window Sensor [Separate] (100m) will be more suitable as it has two contacts that are connected to the sensor by a wire. This means that the sensor can be mounted on the window frame with one wire going to one of the very small contacts and the other small contact mounted on the window itself. If you want to protect external gates and garages then we have a sensor that is housed in a waterproof box and is fully sheathed in a flexible metal tube. The Wireless Garage Door Roller Shutter Door Sensor (100m) [Outdoor] is suited to outdoor use and the contacts can be walked or driven over. They are also suitable for roller shutter doors on shops and commercial premises. |
