Setup

  • The base of the detector turns slightly to remove the fixing plate.
  • Screw the fixing plate to the desired location no higher than 2.5m
  • If the smoke alarm came with a small packet of tiny clips/jumpers then these can be optionally installed into the alarm so that a unique wireless code is generated. This is not essential but if it is not done the default code of AAAAAAAA will be sent. If other devices are sending this default code then they will cause the alarm to trigger.
    • If no clips were included with the alarm then these have already been installed for you or the smoke detector automatically generates its own code without needing the jumper clips.
  • To insert the jumper clips remove the top cover of the smoke detector by placing it face down and inserting a screwdriver into the small locating clip in the battery compartment and twisting. This will release the top cover of the smoke detector.
  • Locate the 9 rows of 3 small pins and place the clips across two pins in each row. Every row does not need to be populated and any combination will do.
  • Replace the smoke detector lid
  • Connect the battery in the detector
  • For a wireless install place the wireless burglar alarm or Personal Alarm for the Elderly into learning mode
  • Press the test button on the detector
  • Once it has been learnt successfully to the alarm mount the detector onto the fixing place by locating the lugs into the holes and turning slightly
  • TEST YOUR SMOKE ALARM ONCE A MONTH
